HANDY HINTS FOR A SUCCESSFUL PARTY...
THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME HELPFUL HINTS FOR BOTH
BEFORE AND DURING THE PARTY:
BEFORE THE PARTY
It’s never too early to book
your entertainer. The best get booked up well
in advance, so act fast…
Once you have your entertainer, book your venue
– there are plenty of good venues around
but not so many good entertainers. Ask your
entertainer to recommend a venue.
Remember to send out your invitations early.
Talking of invites- you can download your own
from my site on the fun box page (for free!).
Make sure you get your party confirmed in writing
from your entertainer to avoid any confusion
about dates, times and venue. Magic Chris will
always send you a written confirmation in the
post for you to check over for your peace of
mind.
Avoid mixing age groups if possible. What an
eight year old likes will not always entertain
a four year old.
How long should the party be? 2 hours is perfect.
Always keep them wanting more, anything longer
than 2 hours may result in bored kids.
Chris calculates : Bored Children + Enough time
= naughty children!
ON THE DAY
Attach a party banner and/or some balloons
to the front of your venue so that Chris and
guests can easily identify the party.
If you have hired a bouncy castle, it is advisable
that this is turned off whilst the show is in
progress. Children will be distracted by the
size and noise if it is up and running during
the show.
Save any party blowers, squeakers, horns and
balloons until after the show. Kids are noisy
enough with out these and it only takes a few
noisy rascals to spoil the enjoyment of the
majority. Any balloons should be hung up for
decoration.
Please ensure that a responsible adult is
present in the room at all times. Magicians
are entertainers – not child minders!
Babies and toddlers should be in the care
of adults during the show.
It is best not distribute food and drink during
the show. Children will not be able to participate
whilst clutching lollipops, ice cream or coke.
Remember to bring matches for the cake! Plus
bin bags for rubbish.
Leave present opening until you get home –
that way you will know which present was from
which child. This is handy for writing any thank
you letters!
Adults are more than welcome to watch the
show. However, they should be asked not to spoil
the children’s enjoyment with their own
conversations.
Chris calculates: Children’s parties +
Noisy parents = The introduction of the Super
Soaker 3000…
